Krasniqi, Pianeta destroy foes

WBO #1 and mandatory light heavyweight challenger Robin Krasniqi (39-2, 15 KOs) scored a third round TKO over Max Heyman (25-12-4, 14 KOs) on Friday night at the Maritim Hotel in Magdeburg, Germany. Referee Manfred Kuechler gave Heyman standing eight-counts in rounds one and three before finally waving it off. Krasniqi will now take aim at WBO champion Nathan Cleverly.

Robin Krasniqi climbs to No.1

The World Boxing Organisation (WBO) have released their latest ranking list and sitting proudly in No.1 position at light heavyweight is Munich's very own Robin Krasniqi. Krasniqi claimed the international version of the belt just over three weeks ago when he knocked out previously unbeaten Serder Sahin in the fourth round in Berlin. Now he is in the position of mandatory challenger to the world title that is currently held by Britain's Nathan Cleverly.

Cleverly Withdraws from Krasniqi Bout

Light heavyweight titlist Nathan Cleverly withdrew from his defense against Robin Krasniqi on Tuesday because of a viral infection, promoter Frank Warren announced. Cleverly (24-0, 11 KOs), of Wales, was due to make his fourth title defense against Krasniqi (37-2, 13 KOs), a native of Serbia based in Germany, on April 28 at Royal Albert Hall in London.
